Strawberry Torte

Strawberry Torte

2 Angel Food cakes (small)
2 boxes strawberry jello
2 ½ cups boiling water
dash salt
2 10-oz packages strawberries
3 small dishes Kool Whip (4 oz)
Whipping cream for frosting

Wipe crumbs off the two angel food cakes.  Stir the two boxes of jello into the 2 ½ cups boiling water (with the salt).  Stir in the two packages of strawberries until dissolved.  Put into refrigerator until thickened.  Beat with mixer until frothy.  Add the three small cartons of Kool Whip or the shipped dream—fold into jello mixture.  Take 1/3 of the cake and break into 2” chunks or smaller and place in an angel food cake pan.  Pour 1/3 of jello mixture over.  Repeat two more times.  Shake pan gently to distribute jello mixture.  Refrigerate overnight.  Dip pan in warm water to remove.  Place in refrigerator again to harden.  Whip the cream for the frosting with sugar.  Frost torte.
