Sour Cream Cookies
½ cup shortening
2 eggs
2 ½-3 cups flour
½ tsp BP
1 cup sour cream
1 ½ cups brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp soda
½ tsp salt
½ cup chopped nuts
Cream sugar, shortening, vanilla. Beat in eggs.
Sift dry ingredients together.
Add alternately with sour cream.
Stir in nuts. Drop from teaspoon
onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350
for 10-12 minutes. Cool and frost.
Frosting:
Heat and stir 6 TB butter or margarine in a
saucepan over low heat until golden brown.
Remove from heat and beat in 2 cups sifted powdered sugar. 1 tsp vanilla and enough hot water until
spreading consistency.
