pecan Turtle Cake 12" Dutch oven
1 cup sugar (rounded)
1/2 cup butter (scant)
3 eggs
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup luke warm water
3/4 cup sour milk
1 tsp soda
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans
1 bottle caramel sauce
1 (18 oz) ctn caramel apple dip
8 oz cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
1 small cool whip
1 chocolate bar (optional)
Cream together sugar, butter and yolks of
eggs. Add and cream well cocoa dissolved
in water.

Add egg whites beaten stiff.
Mix 2 TB vinegar in milk to sour
lightly grease and dust dutch oven with
flour. Pour half of cake batter into
oven and bake with 8 to 9 coals bottom 12 to 16 cols on lid until cake is dry
and springs back, ,about 15-20 minutes.
pour caramel sauce and spread caramel apple dip on cake. Sprinkle pecans and chocolate chips over
caramel. Spoon on remaining batter and
bake approximately 25-30 more minutes or until cake pulls away from edge of
oven. Let cool. combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and cool
whip until smooth. Frost and drizzle
some caramel sauce over top. Shave some
chocolate bar on top.
