Fudge-topped Brownies

Fudge-topped Brownies
Makes 36-40 brownies

1 cup margarine or butter, melted
2 cups sugar
1 cup sunsifted flour
2/3 cup cocoa
½ tsp baking powder
2 eggs
½ cup milk
3 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts, optional
1 (12-ounce) package Semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14-ounce) can Eagle sweetened condensed milk

Preheat oven to 350.  In large mixer bowl, combine margarine, sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, eggs, milk and 1 ½ tsp vanilla; beat well.  Stir in nuts if desired.  Spread in greased 13x9 inch baking pan.  Bake 40 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.  Just before brownies are done, in heavy saucepan, over low heat, melt chips with sweetened condensed milk and remaining 1 ½ tsp vanilla.  Remove from heat.  Immediately spread over hot brownies.  Cool.  Chill.  Cut into bars.  Store covered at room temperature.
